Former Granada Cinema

tmd acted as architectural designer and project manager on the £6 million conversion of the former Granada Cinema to a church for the Deeper Christian Life Ministry.

The cinema, first opened in 1937, was Grade II* Listed with an interior designed by the set designer Theodore Kamisarjevsky.

The conversion project involved the specialist restoration of these historic interiors in conjunction with the introduction of modern building services to enable the premises to be occupied by up to 1200 people.

The project required the management of a large team of specialist consultants and contractors and close liaison with English Heritage and the local authority.
